Spotify has a feature called Taste Rewind that claims to know what you would've listened to back in the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, and oughts ('00s), all based on your listening history and favorite artists. You can essentially time travel into the past and already have "favorites" songs to listen to!

While I was skeptical at first, I tried the feature out for myself and was pleasantly surprised with the results. So if you want to create uniquely tailored playlists from the past five decades, start off by going to Spotify's Taste Rewind feature in your web browser and log in with your Spotify account.

Spotify will ask you to select three artists, which will automatically appear based on what you've been listening to (I chose Kid Cudi, Death Grips, and Coldplay). Once you've selected the artists, click on "See My Rewind."

After a few seconds, Spotify will curate five unique playlists, one for each of the past five decades. As you scroll down between the playlists, a preview of one of the tracks will play.

If you click on "Get My [Decade] Playlist," you'll be redirected to your Spotify account, where your tailored playlist featuring anywhere between 10 and 15 songs will be unveiled. The playlist will automatically be added to your music so that you can access it in the future, either from the desktop or mobile version of Spotify.

As for the song selections that Spotify chose for me, I think they did a pretty damn good job. While some of the songs I had heard before (but still enjoyed), most were new to me, and I really liked the majority of them. Certain songs were a bit more avant-garde (similar to Death Grips), while others were melodic and structured (like Coldplay and Kid Cudi), providing a good mixture of songs based on my musical preferences.

Out of all the playlists, the '60s playlist is my absolute favorite and has been on repeat for the past few hours. If you received an absolutely awesome playlist with Taste Rewind, make sure to share a link to it in the comments!
